I recently enjoyed a conversation about networked music performance with Simon Rentner for his WBGO podcast, The Checkout. I appreciate him posting the whole conversation since it’s rare to get a chance to talk about this topic in the media in so much detail. Simon wanted some background because he and WBGO are hosting a networked concert tomorrow by four great musicians who have taken the plunge into using JackTrip, led by pianist Dan Tepfer along with Melissa Aldana, Dayna Stephens and Jorge Roeder. (I haven’t seen him in years, but Jorge is a friend from long ago and I loved playing with him in the very first version of my electro-acoustic trio in 2004!) They’re streaming the concert at 12pm EST on Friday 5/14 – check it out!
