Extreme trombone night @ Open Gate

I had a blast playing with trombone masters Joe Fiedler and Joey Sellers on the Open Gate series in LA! We did a set of solos followed by a trio set, and it was so inspiring to hear their unique sounds and approaches to the horn. I also composed a new scorestream for them, my term for software-based pieces where the notations are displayed dynamically and unpredictably for improvisers to interpret. The piece – Hurling Through 2026 for 3 Improvising Trombonists – uses Max software to cycle through about a dozen panels mixing graphic notations and grooves, and was super fun to play with them.
