The recording we made of Anthony Davis’ opera Central Park Five was just released! I’m always grateful to be part of Anthony’s music and love playing the parts that he writes for me as one of the improvisers in the orchestra. CP5 is an incredible composition, and won him the Pulitzer Prize for musical composition, a recognition which was so great to see for him after decades of building his unique language of operatic composition combining so many traditions and approaches. We made this recording in an excellent LA studio with with a great cast and orchestra and the sound is fantastic. Other improvisers in the orchestra include Mark Dresser, Earl Howard, Joshua White, and Dan Rosenboom.
